No. Please. Let me go.
Running. Screams echoed all around her as she did. Fleeing from the voices behind her. From the power inside her.
The screams got louder as everything started to disappear. The darkness filled around everything, changing it to nothing.
No. Not me.
The screams grew louder and louder as the darkness got even closer. The darkness reached forward, enraping her in the black. She reached out towards the light as it swallows her.
No! No! Let me go!

Katherine gasped as she bolted awake from the dream. Her heart was racing as she stood up, her legs and hands shaking. She had had the same nightmare for years now but it still scared her. As she put on her jeans jacket she remembered that she didn’t have her job anymore. “Damn it.” She muttered as she slung her brown messenger bag over her shoulder. “I’ll have to go to Sal’s Diner to apply for a waitress job today.” The weight of the laptop inside it thudded against her side as she headed out the door.

As Katherine headed down the street she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being followed. She tried to tell herself that she wasn’t but the feeling just got stronger instead of going away. Finally, she let her instincts get the best of her and she turned around. Right as her eyes made contact with the crowd behind her, three armored men lunged forward. Each of them were equipped with various medieval weapons like swords or axes.
Without warning, she started to break into a sprint. She ran as fast as she could, her sneakers flying across the pavement. Suddenly, a flash of light caught her attention.

CRACK

She looked down to see her bag, slashed in half along with the laptop inside it, fall to the ground. Her eyes widened with fear as she looked back up and made eye contact with the pursuers again.
“Give me the Cube and I’ll let you live.” The main hunter said, lowering his weapon to his side.
Katherine took a step back. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Just give us the Cube.” The one behind him with the sword said, stepping forward towards Katherine.
“I-I don’t have any type of cube.” Katherine stammered. “Please, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The main hunter stepped closer to her and Katherine stumbled back and fell on the ground. “Very well. If you won’t give us the Cube freely then I’ll have to take it by force.” He raised his axe above his head, ready to deal the final blow.
Katherine couldn’t move as she watched the axe gleam above her. Her body was frozen rigid in place with fear. As the axe swung down, she waited for the impact to come.
At the last second, a burst of green energy appeared in front of her and the hunters were sent spiraling backwards. A green, gold, and black clothed figure stood, separating her from the hunters. The long ends of his coat blew in the wind as he picked her up in his arms.
“We have to go.” He said coldly as the hunters got to their feet.
Katherine looked at his face and then her mind made the long lost connection. “Angel, you came back.”
He looked at her with a half-confused half-demanding face before holding her closer. “We have no time. We have to go.”
And with a burst of green light they teleported away.

When Katherine could see again, her eyes were met with an unusual sight. They were in a field with no one to be seen. The man dropped her to the ground and started to walk away.
“Wait!” Katherine yelled as she started to follow him. “Where are you going!”
The man kept on walking. “That is none of your concern.”
“Yes it is!” She yelled back, nearing him with every step.
He turned around violently, meeting her stare with his own. “I am Loki of Asgard! I have no such need to explain myself to a mortal!”
“Asgard.....you’re from the book!” She yelled as he kept on walking. “You’re Loki! God of Mischief!”
“I already know who I am but thank you for clarifying.” He shot back at her sarcastically as he about to disappear. “Now goodbye.”

“Wait!” She yelled as she reached forward. A spear of energy shot from her outstretched hand and blasted inches from his face.
Loki turned around, his face showing a look of complete surprise. “The Tesseract. That’s how I was led to you.” He walked up to her and grabbed her hand. “The energy’s in you.”
“Take off your shirt.” He suddenly demanded.
Katherine reeled back in shock. “What?! I am not-!”
“I don’t want to see your front, you pathetic quim. I need to see your back.”
“You mean the symbol?” She took off her jacket and lifted up the back of her shirt to show the dark brown symbol that encompassed most of her back.
Loki ran his hand gingerly over it, tracing the pattern with his fingers. “The three horns of Odin.” He said, his voice coming out in a whisper. “Put your jacket back on.” He demanded, summoning a golden scepter to appear in his hand.
Katherine did what he told her to do and then walked over to him. He grabbed her around the waist and pulled her close to him. She could feel her cheeks reddening as he pulled her tight. “Where are we going?”
“To the only place that can possibly know how you got that power.” He looked down at her, a smirk adorning his face.
“We’re going to Asgard.”
Finally up...... *dies*
Well, I kinda rushed it a tiny bit so I may go back and fix it later but probably not.
