Sonic Legacy: The Darkest Hour - CHAPTER 1

It was just a normal day in the V Division room. Elocin and I were playing a game of checkers (I was winning, of course), Jenny-Wu was having fun shooting paper targets that were lined up on the right wall, Whisp was meditating again, Rev was working on the Destiny Board from when I accidentally got it blasted by Metal Scourge in a face-off three weeks ago, Spice helping Rev with the board, Red was twirling his hat on his finger in boredom, Xia was listening rock music while lounging in the one chair, and Johnathan was running a security check again.
I had just jumped three of Elocin’s red pieces when there was a knock on the door. We all immediately got tense, me pulling out my sword and everyone else had their full attack force aimed towards the door, especially Jenny-Wu, while Johnathan ran the security check.
“All clear!” Johnathan’s voice echoed from the computer as the door opened. Zia let out a sigh as we all lowered our weapons.
“Why can’t it once be a red alert.” Xia said in frustration. “I really wanted to try out my new cannon.” She lowered the Hydra Cannon that Rev had just built her a few days ago off her shoulder.
A figure walked into the room and who it was even surprised Whisp.
“Guys. I got a mission for ya.” Scourge said as he walked closer to everyone.
“Scourge what is it.” I said hastily.
“We don’t have much time on our hands now-a-days so why don’t you just turn around, bud.” Red said with a bit of anger in his voice. He had never really been a big fan of Scourge, Sanctum, or Steel.
“Look this mission won’t take you long. It’s a quick in quick out.” Scourge insisted.
I sighed. “Okay Scourge, who’s the target.”

“The target’s my old nemesis,” Scourge hesitated before finishing his sentence.
“Hazen the ‘Hedge”

I looked at Scourge questionably. “Hazen? Who’s that?” I had never heard of a Hazen before. As Scourge explained I could tell that everyone was getting excited about this mission. This Hazen guy seemed like a pretty bad dude, him being the King of Darkness and all.
“We’ll take it.” I said excitedly, quickly turning around to face everyone else. “Come-on guys.” As we ran towards the warp ring that Xia had already activated to take us to Hazen’s lair I turned towards Rev. “Rev, is the board done yet?” I asked.
“Naw NightShade. It’s gonna take a few more hours.”
I growled under my breath. I really wanted to take that board.
“Elocin, how’s Johnathan?” I quickly asked her who was running towards me.
“He’s up right now.” She replied as she jumped into the warp area and my wrist communicator’s screen showed Johnathan: 100%.
“Let’s do this!” I yelled before the warping powers of the ring sucked us all into the void.
